Silence
Exploration of the idea of silence and Munch’s painting, “Scream”. Applied to a more relevant context as a postmodern reaction.

[poster design and illustration]
Making a series of digitally manipulated hand drawings as a reaction to Munch's "Scream", playing with the idea of creating an oxymoron scene where the scream is replaced by silence through the static positioning of many figures.

[responding poster design and illustration]
Pushing further I played with the idea that although it may be silent on the outside, inside our minds the voices never stop being loud.
[illustrated stop-motion experiment]
Playing on with the thematics, I made a short hand drawn animation depicting the progression from munch's "scream" to my visual response drawing.

[postmodernist poster design and illustration]
I then delved into postmodernist experiments with Munch's painting by subjecting it to our current social context. The drawing consider people within current society that bottle up their feelings to deal with them alone in their heads or ignore them for the time being, instead of screaming them out loud.

[visual statement design]
I used the iconic 'Scream' as my response towards an absurd political situation in Slovakia in 2018. I did not want to deal with the absurdity of the corrupt Slovak government in my head so I made these edits concerning images as a way of saying it out loud.
